Pickleball recently caught fire, but the vets at Gearbox have been building, supporting, and promoting the sport for years. As the game transformed into the fastest-growing activity in the country, with fresh upstart brands popping up every month, suddenly the Gearbox site wasn’t keeping up with the frenetic pace.     

 The assignment from Gearbox was to build an online presence that not only honored to its roots as an OG but also lived up to the energy of the sport’s current meteoric rise on the court.

We imagined the shopping platform as an on-court experience, where users volleyed between product options that mimicked the fast-paced cadence and excitement of a classic matchup.
 
Using dynamic product configurators, we designed the UI/UX to feel like a series of gratifying racquet swings that always ended with a win. Each element, meticulously engineered for action, inciting users to stay in motion.
